Damian Thompson

Damian Thompson (born 1962) is an English journalist, editor and author, and the publisher of Spectator Health, Money & Life. Previously he worked for the ''Catholic Herald'' as editor-in-chief and ''The Daily Telegraph'' where he was religious affairs correspondent and later blogs editor for the Telegraph group.

In 2003, he received his Ph.D in the sociology of religion from the London School of Economics〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.atlantic-books.co.uk/content/damian-thompson )〕 for his thesis, ''The problem of the end: a sociological study of the management of apocalyptic belief at Kensington Temple, a London Pentecostal church, at the end of the millennium'' (about the management of apocalyptic belief in a London Pentecostal church). He was religious affairs correspondent of ''The Daily Telegraph'' from 1990 to 1994, and subsequently editor-in chief of the ''Catholic Herald.'' He remains a director of the ''Herald''.
Thompson was a Saturday columnist for ''The Daily Telegraph'' from 2011, and the Blogs Editor of the Telegraph Media Group, with responsibility for editing and commissioning blogs on politics, religion, finance and culture.
